Dear “Team Kai,”
I just wanted to let you guys know that Kai is getting amazing feedback from so many people in the community…they are commenting more and more that they would not have known he has autism…other mom’s, My Gym staff, teachers, etc. I just wanted to take a moment to share with you…today we went to Breakers water park’s “mom’s morning” with my very dear friend from college. Her son is 2 weeks older than Kai, so she and I are not only friends/roommates from college, but we shared all of the up’s and down’s while we were expecting throughout our pregnancies. They live out of town and visit for about a week each year, which makes this even better for some reason.
Today I watched Kai PLAY…for more than just a minute with his peer – with his FRIEND. They PLAYED today like I’ve never seen Kai play with anyone other than Finn. I'm sure it's happened at school, but it was just so awesome and incredible and heart-warming and I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I hope you guys all know how incredible you are, and how much we appreciate everyone working together with us.
Everything that has contributed to his success – the "list" I've been talking about and finally put down (somewhat coherently?) for the presentation I did this past Spring at Sunshine School --

It’s not like he’s cured, I realize this, but for a moment…for many moments (in a row!) this morning, he was just a kid playing with his best friend and brother and having fun like kids are suppose to…he was HAPPY and it was just amazing. Thank you again.
Hooray! YaY!
~Michelle
