When you have children, you often wonder what it is they are "going to be when they grow up" but I as a parent have never worried about it too much since they are only 11 & 12 years old and in middle school at the moment. At first it was just "cute" that they wanted to try out Mamma & Pappa's camera's while we were photographing them during a photo session...sure sure let them try it out. But the next time they actually wanted to photograph one another and see how the images turned out. The next thing I know, my oldest son is begging to go with me to my next photo session and be an assistant/second shooter! I turned him down at first but finally he convinced me he would stay out of my way and wouldn't distract anyone, especially the subjects since they were family. Boy oh boy was I pleasantly surprised once again with his talent! He was extremely helpful, acted very professional and stayed out of the way yet captured some really great images himself! Here's one of my favorites that he captured and converted to black & white all on his own:
