This past week I had the opportunity and honor to photograph Calyn & Ryan's Engagement photos in downtown Phoenix, Arizona! We were lucky with the weather that day and had a great time walking around the warehouse district spending a lovely afternoon together! These two are perfect for one another too! This weekend was amazing! We had 2 awesome portrait sessions with incredible people, in lovely Tucson weather, in two of my favorite downtown areas to photograph urban photo sessions - I couldn't ask for more! :) Since I already blogged about the beautiful and sweet "R" family's urban session yesterday, I just need to share the beautiful engagement session we photographed yesterday afternoon!
These two have been together for almost 10 years and are high school sweethearts...it just makes me sigh and think all lovey-dovey - it's so sweet! In fact they will have been together EXACTLY 10 years on the day they are getting married ~ SO cool! I am so happy for them, and you can totally see how in love they are...and he is such a gentleman to her. I have a couple of exciting things that I would like to share with my wonderful clients and blog followers! The first is that this past Monday, me and my wonderful second shooter (aka hubby, Owe) drove up to Phoenix for the Arizona Professional Photographers Association's bi-annual print critique meeting and 3 of the 4 prints that I entered received merits! It is such an honor to be recognized by my peers who are all Master Photographers and extremely talented in our industry. The fourth image was extremely close to receiving a merit as well and I made the recommended adjustments and will enter it at the International Print Competition as well. Owe being the engineer and math lover that he is, was quite proud of me and the fact that only 18 of the 100 prints submitted received a merit and 3 were created by Wondertime Photography! Here they are:

The second exciting thing is that I received my official certification from the Professional Photographers of America and I can now add "CPP" after my name which stands for Certified Professional Photographer. I had to pass a very difficult exam this past January and submit a portfolio of images to be judged, which also passed first time around. Yay!
I am proud of these accomplishments and look forward to working toward earning my Master of Photography title by entering the above images at the International Print Competition which will be scored at Imaging USA in January 2012 in New Orleans, and each year thereafter. You can only submit 4 images per year and you need 13 merits from print merits from the International Competition (the other 12 merits come from service/education merits) in order to received your master degree. So, it generally takes several years to earn this distinction, but I am so excited to get started this year! Thanks again to everyone - I have the best clients, friends and family ever! *hugs* ~M

Well, summer is officially here in Tucson, Arizona - hello 107 degree temps! Despite the extreme heat, Allie and Brad were super happy and really fun to work with - we had a great time creating some fun memories at their downtown engagement session. We had so much fun on the last day of 2009 --- Owe and I met up with with Adam and Carla for their engagement photo session in downtown Tucson and had a great time chatting and walking around and chasing trains! Seriously, Carla can totally run in high heels - very impressive considering I can barely walk in them! Here are some of my favorites from their session:

Yesterday I did the engagement session for an adorable and fun couple, Lindsay and Cord. We met up at the "Planes of Fame" in Chino and had a great time hanging out...it's always great when the couple are up for anything and have such great attitudes...despite tiny, little, minor obstacles such as airplane hangers that are hot enough to be considered giant saunas and blisters from a pair of really incredible shoes! Speaking of shoes, I loved Lindsay's outfit...the hat was so much fun and the dress is the same dress she wore on her first date with Cord AND the same dress she wore when he asked her to marry him, so I thought that was cool, not to mention it fit the theme and venue perfectly.
