Tucson Portrait Photographer ~ Headshots

As you might recall, we photographed the awesome "R" family in downtown Tucson for their first urban family portrait session and they told us they loved both the experience and the results - hooray! Now I want to share with you the beautiful mamma and handsome daddy of those wonderful children! Tucson Portrait Photographer ~ Headshot Photos

Today I had the pleasure of spending my morning in downtown Tucson getting to know a very talented and very sweet Tucson blog and website designer who is located here in our very own town and her name is Nicole Bateman of The Pixel Boutique! She does much more than just design blogs and websites too, check out her entire line of design services!

I am thrilled that she will be giving my blog a much needed make-over in the next month or so - how exciting is that!?!? Can I get a big YIPEE?!?! LOL. I'm quite excited about this news, as you can probably tell by now. ;) So be on the look-out at the end of March for some awesome changes to hit this awesome blog and then you can stop by more often, leave more comments and we will just be more awesome together! YaY! :D I'm feeling kinda awesome tonight! ;)

Headshots ~ Tucson Portrait Photographer

During my family portrait sessions I like to offer headshots if clients are interested because of all of the social media we use, it can be nice to have a professional headshot to use for these sites or even for work sites such as LinkedIn or work websites, business cards and marketing materials. So, next time you set up your family portrait session, be sure to let me know you need to update your personal headshots and we can get those done as well - just ask me for details. Meet this sweet adorable doggie named Petula - how cute is she?!? She didn't plan on getting her portrait taken today, but she just happened to be there when I did her Mamma's headshots, so who could resist her aborable-ness? :)

Tucson Senior Portrait Photographer {Sneak Peek!}

Tucson, Arizona Professional Photographer & Merit Prints!

I have a couple of exciting things that I would like to share with my wonderful clients and blog followers! The first is that this past Monday, me and my wonderful second shooter (aka hubby, Owe) drove up to Phoenix for the Arizona Professional Photographers Association's bi-annual print critique meeting and 3 of the 4 prints that I entered received merits! It is such an honor to be recognized by my peers who are all Master Photographers and extremely talented in our industry. The fourth image was extremely close to receiving a merit as well and I made the recommended adjustments and will enter it at the International Print Competition as well. Owe being the engineer and math lover that he is, was quite proud of me and the fact that only 18 of the 100 prints submitted received a merit and 3 were created by Wondertime Photography! Here they are:

The second exciting thing is that I received my official certification from the Professional Photographers of America and I can now add "CPP" after my name which stands for Certified Professional Photographer. I had to pass a very difficult exam this past January and submit a portfolio of images to be judged, which also passed first time around. Yay!

I am proud of these accomplishments and look forward to working toward earning my Master of Photography title by entering the above images at the International Print Competition which will be scored at Imaging USA in January 2012 in New Orleans, and each year thereafter. You can only submit 4 images per year and you need 13 merits from print merits from the International Competition (the other 12 merits come from service/education merits) in order to received your master degree. So, it generally takes several years to earn this distinction, but I am so excited to get started this year! Thanks again to everyone - I have the best clients, friends and family ever! *hugs* ~M

Faces of Our Future { Tucson Children's Photographer }

A couple of a weeks ago I had the pleasure to photograph a bunch of really awesome 1st graders for a fund-raising project for their school. The project was a huge success thanks to the kids, their parents and their awesome teacher and the moms who organized everything! The live auction was held this past Saturday, so now I can share their finished canvas! You can see we have lots of veterinarians, a doctor, illustrator and author, a teacher, a marine biologist, actresses and singers and even an artist! A baseball player, golfer, a ballerina, a baker and chef and a bunch more! Our future is bright! I loved being a part of this awesome project and working with such creative kids! ~M

Tucson Portrait Photographer { Children & Family }

This was such a fun concept photo session that I did awhile back with the H Family who are SO much fun to work with and photograph - they are always up for anything and love to do fun creative things with our photo sessions. Mom and I both LOVE Converse and because little man "G" has some totally RAD little flamed ones, we just got going from there and ended up with a little leather jacket and a harley to go with it! Too much fun! Thanks you guys --- you are as RAD as G's shoes and his "Angry Brow!" Heehee ~M

Tucson Portrait Photographer { Family & Children }

We had such a wonderful time this past weekend photographing some WONDERFUL families and kids at the downtown Tucson studio space. I am so grateful that my many awesome clients refer their awesome FRIENDS, who then become more --- AWESOME clients! YaY! I love when this happens --- and that is exactly how I got to spend a lovely afternoon with the "C" family and their beautiful children --- thanks to the "H" family. :) We walked around the warehouse district and I'm not sure they believed me about how loud a train whistle really is --- until they got to experience it themselves. :) I really enjoyed watching this family genuinely enjoy one another's company...enjoying the moment together while I captured their love and connection.
